ABOUT ME
Putting My Experience
to Work
Kiran Uppar is a passionate social activist, architect, and town planner dedicated to transforming Hubli-Dharwad into a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable city. Deeply inspired by his education in the United Kingdom, where he pursued a Master’s in Town Planning from Anglia Ruskin University, Kiran returned home determined to modernize his hometown’s infrastructure, administration and civic awareness. Over the years, Kiran has been associated with several community-driven activities aimed at promoting civic responsibility, environmental consciousness and youth engagement.
He has contributed to initiatives such as the Hubballi Marathon, Hasiru Hubballi Greenathon, the Plastic-Free Hubli–Dharwad campaign, the Kannada Club at B.V.B. College and the Colour My City Foundation. These efforts have involved organizing clean-ups, beautification drives, awareness programs and public participation events that encourage citizens—especially young people—to take ownership of their surroundings. Through these initiatives, he continues to support the idea that positive change begins at the grassroots level and grows when communities work together.
